DITOs Final Event

On the 3rd April, the Doing It Together Science (DITOs) project will present the results and lessons learnt from the project in the DITOs Pan-European Policy Round Table on Citizen Science and DIY science. This one-day event will be a mix of talks, panels discussions, and a “marketplace” (exhibition stalls) showcasing DITOs activities and new projects, creating a great opportunity for interactivity, creativity, and networking!

DITOs partners will present results from the core themes of the project: environmental sustainability, biodesign, public engagement, policy engagement, evaluation methods.

11:30 – 12:30 Doing It Together beyond DITOs
Short talks discussing how to ensure the DITOs legacy will live beyond the end of the project, and the challenges for citizen science.

A space to exhibit projects, bring ideas of iconic tools, strategies from partners and other projects, ECSA Working Groups, citizen scientists.

The session will be part of the consultation process aiming at developing written guidelines on citizen science & environmental monitoring and reporting requested by the European Commission to DG Environment, JRC, Environment Agency Copenhagen.

In parallel, one day before, on the 2nd April, will be realized: 1) the annual General Assembly and working group meetings of the European Citizen Science Association (ECSA), during which ECSA members are invited to make decisions and actively participate in the shaping of the Association and the Working Groups; 2) a workshop organised by BiodivERsA to increase scientist awareness of the importance and added value of citizen science, explore methodologies and adopted practices ongoing in Europe and worldwide, and to learn how to better promote and support citizen science.
